Microsoft OneDrive pricing
OneDrive for Business is priced per user. The only entry price we found is $5 per user per month for Plan 1 on an annual commitment, and it comes from third-party sites. Microsoft's own pages do not confirm it, and the plan may be retired or changed. Billing terms, annual discounts, minimum seats, add-ons and renewal rules are not published in a form we could cite, so the bill for 20 users cannot be calculated honestly. Because OneDrive is also included in Microsoft 365 plans, many companies pay for it without a separate line item.
Microsoft OneDrive does not publish a price list. Pricing is quoted on request.
The $5 Plan 1 price comes from third-party sites, is not confirmed on microsoft.com, and may be retired or changed.

What Microsoft OneDrive really costs
Microsoft OneDrive publishes no price list, so the real cost depends on the quote. Use the questions below to turn a sales conversation into a number you can compare.
Questions to ask about price
- What is the price per user or per unit, and what is the pricing basis (seats, employees, usage)?
- Is there a minimum number of seats or a minimum annual spend?
- What is the discount for annual billing, and can we start monthly?
- Which features we need sit in add-ons or a higher plan, and what do they cost?
- How much can the price rise at renewal, and is the increase capped in the contract?
- Are there one-time costs for implementation, onboarding or data migration?
Is Microsoft OneDrive worth the price?
OneDrive is good value for organizations already on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, where storage rides along with licences they hold anyway. It is a weaker fit for teams outside the Microsoft ecosystem, who would pay per user for storage that integrates best with tools they do not use. Before buying standalone, ask Microsoft for the current plan names and prices in writing.
Worth it if
- Organizations already on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
Look elsewhere if
- Teams outside the Microsoft ecosystem.
Our verdict on Microsoft OneDrive
Microsoft OneDrive is business file storage that Microsoft sells on its own or bundled into Microsoft 365 plans. The cost question is mostly about which of those two routes you take. Microsoft's own pricing pages are not where the figures we found come from: the entry price of $5 per user per month (OneDrive for Business Plan 1, annual commitment) comes from third-party sites and is not confirmed on microsoft.com.
That makes OneDrive hard to rate on price alone. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365, the storage is effectively part of a bill you carry anyway, and the real question is whether you need a standalone plan at all. If you do not use Microsoft 365, the $5 figure is a starting point to check with Microsoft before you budget around it.
